“ First time I've been there and it was awesome! We arrived early Saturday morning so it wasn't too crowded Service was excellent and very quick. I had the strawberry crepes and they were thin and cooked just right. The strawberries were sweet but not too sweet. My buddy got the Belgian Waffle and it was awesome as well. Cooked just right with excellent-tasting whipped cream and those same great strawberries. The restaurant itself was neat and tidy - and the tables were squeeky clean. Prices are at the higher breakfast end, BUT the quality of the food made it all worth while. I had no problems with superior taste! ”
“ Est. 1958- When you've been in business for 71 years, you must be doing 'Something' right!! And they are - the Original Pancake House serves classic comfort food, with some of the best pancakes in town (German & Regular). The lines are long, the dining room is loud, the tables are close together, but the food is solid, and I always leave satisfied. The pork sausage & gravy was very good, and had a nice peppery kick. My go-to of eggs over medium with bacon was perfect. The bacon was thick and nice and crisp. The Corn Beef Hash was very tasty, and not too salty. The buckwheat pancakes were also delicious. The service was friendly and constant and our meal was satisfying. No frills, just solid food. My high rating is for the food, service, and the history and longevity of this neighborhood icon. I hope the Pancake House can go another 70 years - definitely worth a visit. ”
“ A day starting with pancakes is always a very good day. The menu is extensive though my go-to is the sensational German pancake. It's served with slices of tangy lemon and a dish of powdered sugar. We also ordered pigs in blankets, side of thick tasty bacon, and buttery fluffy scrambled eggs. How can everything be so perfection and the coffee be sub-par? We've given up on the coffee after a few tries of hot and iced and now order cocoa and hot tea. The service is always consistently excellent. Jesus today was attentive, courteous, and very on top of everything. This location looks like a converted old house. It's cozy though gets loud. I highly recommend this place! Except for the coffee. ”
“ The Original Pancake House in Anaheim is a solid spot for breakfast or brunch with a classic, homey vibe. You're coming here because you want that homestyle food. Parking: There's free parking in the small lot in the back. If they run out of parking, you might be able to park next door at the elementary school next door if the sign is out indicating so (usually weekends). Otherwise, there's some free street parking available across the street. The Food: The food here is what you expect, nothing fancy, just homey. Many of the items come with a side of the pancakes, which are light and fluffy. There isn't an item I would say is a must try, get whatever you're feeling. The hash browns are definitely different than what I've had before. They're thick and soft, almost like a potato cake. The portions are generous so feel free to share. Everything was cooked perfectly. The Service: The staff was friendly and attentive. Even when when it's a packed restaurant and they're running around, they made sure to frequently check in and get us everything we wanted. Overall, if you're looking for a place to grab a homestyle breakfast, this is the place. It's popular and there's frequently a line so I highly recommend you join the waitlist before you arrive. ”
“ Worth the wait, definitely worth the wait!!! The best pancakes I've ever tried, really! They have breakfast and brunchy items. Cute little atmosphere but busy, so come early or get on the waitlist! Some items take longer to make, like the Apple Pancake Special so keep that in mind. We've bought 4 of their signature mugs, check them out! ”
“ I really like this place and the star I'm taking is more from a logistical stand point that there is never any parking in their lot. This place has great food and you will leave extremely full. I got the regular ham and egg omelette with a side of fluffy pancakes. You will definitely also leave with left overs. The food is very heavy but delicious. This place is also historical it has resisted the ever changing city and it is a staple for anyone visiting anaheim. Nothing like a good old fashioned breakfast that is reasonably priced. The ambiance is very simple and the cups say anaheim pancake house on them. The service is quick and the staff is always making sure drinks are filled. Which all you can ask for in the morning. ”
“ We came here right after the Family and cast members Disney 5K run. We arrived just a little past 6am and this place was already packed. We had to wait about 30 minutes for our table of party of 6. Once seated it was smooth sailing from there. I ordered the Corned Beef and Hash with over easy Eggs. Instead of pancakes I substitute for Hash Browns for $1.65 more. I also ordered their Strawberry Crepes for my daughter and I to share. Their corned beer hash was delicious, the outside edges was nice and crispy. Thier hash browns were fantastic. If you like crispy buttery hash brown this is the place. The Strawberry Crepes was light and not overly sweet. Just the way I like it. Service was great and friendly. Overall great breakfast place in Anaheim. ”
“ Summary - cool Knotts vibe restaurant to feel glimpse of life in 50 & 60s household. For me, this was a very interesting and fun place. The place was established in 1958 and the ambience of the restaurant screams of its heritage. The interior of the space is almost residential living room like with traditional wood treatment all around the restaurant. My girlfriend said the place looks and feels like Knotts Berry Farm and I couldn't agree more. The place was completely packed and bustling. Yet, we were seated fairly quickly (we waited extra 10 more min to be seated inside.) Despite the place being completely packed, our waitress was super friendly and she kept checking up on us, which I always appreciate. But most importantly, the food. We ordered Banana pancake with egg (only comes in scrambled I think) and pumpkin pancake with coffee. It was a very traditional style pancake. No jazz or fling but homestyle. Some might say it's boring and some might say it's nostalgic. Pancake is served with huge amount of melted butter and fluffed butter. I wish to live at least beyond 60 so we stayed clear of butter. Overall, I really liked it, but I probably won't return because I can get better pancake anywhere else. But for attraction, I highly recommend this place. ”
